Crew
I think it's definitely important to meet in advance with the various members of the crew to discuss the overall intention of the film, particular shots, etc... , especially as they get longer. I think we've been pretty good with that as a group though. I like the idea of coming up with a treatment for the crew so that everyone is on the same page. So there would be a one sentence description of the film and then a broader outline of the necessary shots, and then stylistic goals or crew behavior, etc ... I also think it's valuable to spend half an hour testing equipment and checking batteries before going to the filming location.
